New TVS Orbiter V1 Debuts with 86km Range, Expected Price and Details

TVS has introduced a new variant of the Orbiter, dubbed the Orbiter V1. The scooter is powered by a smaller 1.8kWh battery and is now the most affordable option in the brand’s EV line-up. TVS Motor Company launched the Orbiter V1 electric scooter on March 12, 2026, pricing it from ₹49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi, inclusive of PM e-Drive subsidy) under a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. Without BaaS, the scooter is priced at ₹84,500 under the same subsidy conditions.

Gaurav Gupta, President of India 2W Business at TVS Motor Company, addressed the strategy behind this aggressive pricing, stating: “The launch of TVS Orbiter V1 further strengthens this lineup by introducing the most accessible entry point into our electric scooter range. Alongside this, the introduction of BaaS represents an important shift in customers’ approach to EV ownership.” By separating the battery cost from the vehicle chassis, you get a technologically relevant commuter backed by a 5-year/70,000 km extended warranty without draining your savings on day one.

The TVS Orbiter V1 and TVS Orbiter V2 are two variants of the electric scooter offered by TVS . While both models are based on the same platform, they differ in terms of battery capacity, range, charging time, and price.

TVS Orbiter: Variants explained

The Orbiter V1 is the more affordable option in the lineup, priced at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom). It is equipped with a smaller 1.8kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed riding range of 86km, while the top speed stands at 68kmph. The battery can be charged from zero to 80 per cent in 2.2 hours. The scooter has a kerb weight of 101kg.

On the other hand, the Orbiter V2 is priced higher at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom) and comes with a larger 3.1kWh battery pack. This setup offers a significantly higher claimed range of 158km, while the top speed remains the same at 68kmph. The charging time for the battery from zero to 80 per cent is rated at 4.1 hours. Due to the larger battery, the kerb weight of the V2 increases to 112kg.
