Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Exterior

The BE 6 looks more like a performance car than a traditional family SUV. Its sharp front design, sloping roof, wide stance, and sporty proportions give it a strong road presence. The SUV measures 4,371 mm long, 1,907 mm wide and 1,627 mm tall, with a 2,775 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 207 mm when unladen.

The BE 6 Sporteq carries over the outgoing BE 6’s exterior design. The key change is a ‘Sporteq’ badge and the introduction of the Launch Edition, which gets an exclusive Graphite Storm exterior paint finish. Depending on the variant, the SUV is available with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, customisable LED tail-lamp text displays, flush-fitting door handles and a fixed panoramic glass roof.

Color Options

Mahindra has added three new shades to the BE 6 lineup called Ruby Velvet, Rosso Impulso and Graphite Storm. Here is its revised color palette:

• Ruby Velvet (NEW)
• Rosso Impulso (NEW)
• Graphite Storm (NEW)
• Tango Red
• Firestorm Orange
• Deep Forest
• Desert Myst
• Everest White
• Stealth Black

Do note that the Rosso Impulso and Graphite Storm hues are exclusive to the Formula E Edition and Launch Edition variants, respectively. Furthermore, the Formula E Edition is only available with satin finishes for a sportier look.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Interior and Features

Step inside and the BE 6 feels far more futuristic than a regular SUV. Depending on the variant, you can get a large digital cockpit, connected technology, wireless smartphone connectivity, premium audio, powered seats, dual zone climate control, wireless charging and a wide glass roof.

Higher variants bring a 16 speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, Level 2 ADAS, 5G connectivity and other connected features. For family use, the 455 litre boot is useful for luggage, while the 45 litre frunk gives you extra space for smaller items. One point worth remembering: Mahindra’s own manual states that not every listed feature is enabled on every BE 6 variant. Always check the exact equipment list before booking.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Battery and Charging

The BE 6 Sporteq is offered with three battery pack options: 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh. Power outputs stand at 231hp for the 59kWh version, 245hp for the 70kWh battery, and 286hp for the 79kWh version, with all three producing 380Nm and driving the rear wheels.

The claimed MIDC range is 548km for the 59kWh battery, 651km for the 70kWh battery, and 683km for the 79kWh version. Charging capability varies across the battery packs. The 59kWh battery supports up to 140kW DC fast charging, the 70kWh battery up to 160kW, and the 79kWh battery up to 180kW. Mahindra claims all three can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes using their respective maximum-rated DC chargers. An optional 7.2kW or 11.2kW AC wall charger is also available, with full charging times ranging from 6 hours to 11.7 hours, depending on the battery pack and charger selected.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Safety

The BE 6 SPORTEQ is packed to the brim with safety tech. Highlights include 7 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), all-wheel disc brakes, a Level 2+ ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite, front and rear parking sensors, hill hold assist (HHA), traction control and a 540-degree camera.

Why Should You Consider the BE 6 for Family Use?

If you are buying your first premium EV, look beyond the headline range. Your daily route, home charging access, and family needs matter more. Here are the areas worth checking before you book:

1. Home charging: Make sure your parking space has a suitable electrical connection.
2. Daily distance: A 59 kWh battery may be enough if most of your driving is within the city.
3. Highway travel: The 79 kWh battery is more suitable for longer trips.
4. Boot space: The 455 litre boot can handle normal family luggage.
5. Safety: The 5 star Bharat NCAP result adds confidence.
6. Service support: Check the nearest authorised Mahindra EV service center before purchase.

– Pooja Sundaram (Bengaluru)

The 2026 Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq delivers genuine practical range, modern tech, and top-tier safety at an honest price. If you want a dependable family EV that turns heads, head down to your nearest dealership and take it for a spin.

Which Mahindra BE 6 Variant Should You Buy?

For most buyers, Pack Two with the 59 kWh battery offers a sensible middle ground. You get more equipment than the entry model without paying the full price of the top version.

However, if your budget allows and you often travel long distances, the 79 kWh Pack Three is the more compelling choice. Its 683 km certified range and 6.7 second 0 to 100 km/h claim give it a clear performance advantage. Your final choice should depend on your driving pattern, charging access, and budget, not just the feature list.

Final Thoughts

The Mahindra BE 6 is one of the more interesting electric SUVs for buyers who want performance without giving up family-friendly features. Its strong Bharat NCAP result, fast charging, spacious storage and sporty design make a convincing package.

The 59 kWh versions make more sense for regular city use, while the 79 kWh model is better suited to frequent highway travel. Before you book, take a proper test drive, check charging options at home, and confirm the exact on-road price and delivery time with your local Mahindra dealer.
